M1000TX Power Amplifier
SOUL-STIRRING, AWE-INSPIRING PERFORMANCE
The TAD M1000TX replaces the TAD M1000 and incorporates a number of refinements, including a redesigned circuit layout and power transformers, to deliver powerful sound with exceptional clarity in the tradition of the TAD brand.
PERFECT SYMMETRY FOR ABSOLUTE PRECISION
Achieving perfect symmetry and balance in a power amplifier's circuitry and physical layout is essential to driving a speaker system's cones with the utmost precision. To this end, the 500W per channel TAD-M1000TX uses a bridge-tied load (BTL) design that links two separate amplifiers in a balanced configuration for the left and right channels in the amplification circuit from input to output stages. In addition, the positive and negative power supplies maintain perfect symmetry between them, and all sections of the power supply circuit - including the transformer, rectifier circuit, smoothing circuit and stabilisation circuit - are designed independently for each channel.
ULTRA CLEAN AND EFFICIENT POWER SUPPLY
To achieve clear and dynamic sound reproduction with excellent transient response, the TAD-M1000TX is powered by two high-capacity toroidal transformers, the internal coil of which is connected directly to the power supply circuit. The cross-sectional shape of the transformer core has been redesigned to be circular, improving contact between the core and the coils, minimising unwanted magnetic flux leakage and vibration, and contributing to a much cleaner power supply. A tighter connection between the primary and secondary coils reduces energy conversion losses, and coils connected in parallel contribute to lower load fluctuations. These features, combined with proprietary 33,000μF electrolytic capacitors, form the backbone of the TAD-M1000TX's high-capacity analogue power supply circuitry, which effortlessly handles any sudden changes in load current and delivers outstanding responsiveness.
HIGHLY RESPONSIVE AND INCREDIBLY PURE AMPLIFICATION
The TAD-M1000TX uses a simplified Class D single output stage consisting of leadless Direct FET devices with ultra-low on-resistance, capable of delivering signal energy to the speakers without degradation. Combined with the analogue power supply circuitry, the TAD-M1000TX completes a highly responsive and incredibly pure amplification stage, delivering an astonishing 500 watts per channel. The result is a robust yet smooth and polished sound reproduction with excellent transient response.
SOPHISTICATED VIBRATION CONTROL DESIGN
The heavy, rugged body of the TAD-M1000TX is supported by a combination of chrome molybdenum steel spiked feet and special steel self-adjusting spiked holders. By minimising contact with the surface on which the TAD-M1000TX sits, external vibrations are prevented from passing through the feet and adversely affecting the circuits and components inside the case. This sophisticated anti-vibration design results in a denser and more energetic audio reproduction, while preserving the spatial nuances of the music.
